Sam Woode Ltd., educational books publishers based in Dansoman, Accra, has donated a set of assorted books worth GHc3, 000.00 to the Mumford Community Library in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.
The donation took place during the recent grand durbar of the Chiefs and people of Mumford, an event which was part of the activities marking the celebration of this year's Akwambo Festival.
Presenting the books, Mr. Samuel Abaka Hanson, Accounts / Warehouse Officer of Sam Woode Ltd., who led a three-man delegation to the event, disclosed that the donation was in response to a request made by library and also deemed the act as part of his outfit's normal corporate social responsibility of giving back to society.
Receiving the books on behalf of the library, Hon. Francis Arthur, MP for Gomoa West, expressed his appreciation for the kind gesture and promised to buy additional books to augment the stock in the library.
