Nigeria: Sokoto Guber Primaries - 'Ignore Petition Against Wamakko'

Abuja — Ahead of the December 17 gubernatorial primaries of the Sokoto State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a civil society organisation, the Good Governance Project Initiative (GGPI), has urged the party to close ranks, work as a team and discard the petition written against the incumbent governor Aliyu Wamakko in order to elect the best candidate that will win the governorship elections for the party in the state.

The group, which is committed to championing ethics and integrity in public service and political leadership, in a statement in Abuja Saturday, described as false and baseless a petition purportedly written by some PDP members accusing Wamakko of marginalising the old PDP members in the state and other anti-party activities.
