As part of the strategy to ensure transparency and accountability in the forthcoming general election slated for 17th November 2012, the National Electoral Commission NEC has launched the Accra Principle of Electoral Justice System with a steering committee made up of members of civil society groups, forces and political parties established to operate it for eighteen months.
The Chief Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Christiana Thorpe, said the launching was significant to NEC and the people of Sierra Leone as it upholds the right of the people to participate in democratic governance of the state.
