The head of the interim Libyan government Abdurrahim el-Keib announced the new government on Tuesday, 22th November. The government will last about 8 months until parliamentary elections are held, which are expected to take place next July.
On Thursday, 24th November, the selected ministers were sworn in, pledging loyalty to the ideals and objectives of the February 17th Revolution and that they will guarantee the country's independence and security, and the unification of all its territories. The ceremony was held before the head of the National Transitional Council, Mustafa Abdul Jalil.
