Tunisia: Political Parties Denounce Fundamentalists' Response At Manouba University

After a protest broke out at the University of Arts and Humanities in Manouba yesterday, November 28, initiated by Islamist students who demand the right to wear the burka on campus and the right to establish a prayer space, several political parties took a stand to denounce the violence.

Maya Jribi, Secretary General of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP), strongly invited the Constituent Assembly to take a stance against such proceedings and to call for the respect of educational institutions.
