Zambia: Mumbwa Police Hunt Defiler Dad

POLICE in Mumbwa are looking for a man who has allegedly impregnated his 12-year-old daughter.

The man, believed to be in his 40s and on separation from his wife, is alleged to have had carnal knowledge of his biological daughter who is now several months pregnant.

Central Province police commissioner, Solomon Jere, said in Kabwe yesterday that the police were looking for the suspect identified as Charles Nduna of Makumaulya Village in Chief Kaindu's area.

Meanwhile, four people died in three separate incidents in Serenje, Kapiri Mposhi and Mkushi districts, while seven people are nursing serious injuries in Serenje District Hospital.

In the Serenje incident, two people died on the spot, while seven others sustained injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in had a tyre burst and overturned several times.

Dr Jere named the deceased as Victor Chanda, 33, and Lute Nkhoma, 36, both of Lusaka. Their bodies are in Chitambo Mission Hospital mortuary.

He said the two were in a group of seven others travelling from Nakonde when the accident happened and that the injured were admitted to Serenje District Hospital.

In the Kapiri Mposhi incident, the deceased identified as Rene Shultz died on the spot after he attempted to overtake a truck on the Great North Road.

Dr Jere also said police were holding a Tanzanian driver for causing the death of a man who was driving a tractor in Mkushi District.
