Nigeria: Ukah Ready to Play Hard for Eagles

After earning his first cap for Nigeria, Widzew Lodz FC of Poland defender, Ugo Ukah said he is ready to meet the physical demands of playing African football.

The former Reggiana of Italy player said that he was looking forward to playing more games and would readily adapt to playing in Africa having spent all his football years playing in Europe.

"I have played in England, Italy and Poland where football is very physical. I am also a physical player and I'm ready for the challenge. I believe I can break into the squad, though it's not going to be easy.

"I like to build the game from the back with the ball on the ground. I will do my best to bring quality to the team.

"It's not easy to be considered one of the best defenders in Poland and I think it's time to prove my worth internationally so I'm up for the challenge," said Ukah

Ukah who was born and raised in Parma, Italy stated that his family was very excited after he made his debut for the Eagles in Kaduna against Zambia. The 29-year old player see was first invited by coach Samson Siasia, but he never got his chance until the Kaduna game.

"I was very happy on my debut and I am already looking forward to the next game. My parents were very happy too.
