Uganda: Police Hunt for Fishermen Killers

Police in Kasese district are hunting for one Hussein Bwambale the chairman of the beach management unit at Kasenyi landing site in Lake Katwe sub-county for allegedly torturing t death two fisher men after accusing them of illegal fishing.

Mumbere Bahati, 27 and Joseph Baluku, 31, died on Saturday, December 3, after Bwambale allegedly tortured them to scare them from carrying out illegal fishing in the lake. The bodies of the two were recovered on Monday, December 5, after locals mounted a search and fund the bodies floating on the lake. It is alleged that after killing the fishermen, Bwambale and his unit members dumped the bodies in the lake.
