Gambia: At the Tax Commission Ex-Chief Justice Admits Owing the State

Abdou Karim Savage, the ex-chief justice of The Gambia yesterday appeared before the Tax Evasion Commission, chaired by Justice Mama Fatima Singhateh.

Justice A.K. Savage, who testified before the Commission as the fifth witness admitted owing tax to the state. Justice Savage told the Commission that he was called to the bar in December 1991 and started as Attorney General's Chambers as a state counsel, rose through ranks and became the Registrar of deeds.
