Sierra Leone: President Koroma's 'Clean' Human Rights Record

As the clock ticks towards the decisive November 2012 presidential and parliamentary elections, a recent opinion poll conducted by this writer on the streets of Freetown and its environs suggest that the coming electoral battle will be a neck and neck affairs between the ruling All People's Congress (APC) party and their arch rival the Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP).

Respondents were also unanimous in their verdict that come what may, the most significant political alternative or a third force party role will be played by the People's Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC), party of lawyer Charles Margai or the United Democratic Movement of Mohamed Bangura, a former Margai political ally and PMDC Chairman.
