Mogadishu — The militant islamist group of Al-shabab began aggressively recruiting children as young as eight years in their strongholds in southern regions to fighting between fighting between Transitional Federal Government (TFG) forces along with AMISOM against Al-shabab fighters in Mogadishu.
Reliable sources Shabelle Media received from Al-shabab controlled provinces in south and central Somalia indicated, that the group launched a campaign recruiting of the young soldiers who are between the ages of 10 and 15. Some, it says, are lured from their homes by promises of gifts like mobile phones.
