Angola: António Gonçalves Debuts in Portuguese Language Anthology

Luanda — Five texts of the Angolan poet António Gonçalves were selected for the IV edition of the project "Anthology of Portuguese speaking countries' poets", after a decade centred in the Latin American market.

Presented publicly on 18th of December, in Leiria, Portugal, by Folheto Edições publisher, the collection has works by 128 poets, from 12 Portuguese speaking countries, with António Gonçalves being the only Angolan author.

According to the author, who has returned to the country after living in Cuba for a decade, the inclusion of his texts in the project opens a space for the conquest of the Portuguese language market.

The former cultural advisor of the Angolan Embassy in Cuba and former secretary-general of the Angolan Writers Association (UEA) informed ANGOP that he already has the endorsement of the editor to present the collection in Luanda's Camões Institute in 2012.
