Baladweyne — Somali government soldiers backing by Ethiopian troops began on Sunday morning, a massive joint security operation in parts of Baladweyne town of Hiran region in central Somalia, to root out the remnants of Al-shabab fighters from the town.
These security operations came a day after hundreds of Ethiopian troops with Somali government soldiers poured into a strategic town in central Somalia on Saturday, seizing it from the Al-Shabab militants.
