Nigeria: Transporters Hike Fares in Bayelsa Over Subsidy Removal

The removal of petroleum subsidy by the Federal Government has led to sharp increase in fares in Bayelsa State.

Most visitors to the predominantly riverine state for the yuletide, who were returning to their base were, yesterday, stranded over the 1000 per cent increase in transportation fare at the various motor parks.
