Gambia: Nation On Cholera Alert

The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, the National Disaster Management Agency, key stakeholders and other partners have officially confirmed that The Gambia is on high alert about Cholera outbreak following the official confirmation of several cases reported in neighbouring Senegal.

The Ministry and partners indicated that they have taken up vigorous surveillance measures and preparedness to respond to any case of cholera and advised the general public to take precautionary measures though there is no official confirmation of Cholera existence in The Gambia so far. They also called on people to join hands to prevent the spread of Cholera in the country.
