Kenya: Kakamega Education Stakeholders Criticise Proposed School Terms

Education stakeholders in Kakamega county have said the proposed school terms announced by Education minister Sam Ongeri will lead to indiscipline because of the long holidays.

Kakamega Teachers Benevolent Fund secretary Francis Ometty and his Knut counterpart John Wesonga added that educationists were not involved in the decision. "The government came up with the wrong formula in determining the terminal calendar because it ignored viable stakeholders," said Wesonga.
