Uganda: Sodomy Case - Hearing of Appeal By State for February

Hearing of an appeal by the State against a Magistrates Court decision that dismissed charges of conspiracy against two city pastors accused of tarnishing the image of Pastor Robert Kayanja has been set for February.

In 2010, Mwanga II Magistrates Court before Ms Esther Nakadama, held that the State failed to present witnesses to testify against pastors Robert Kayiira and Michael Kyazze of Omega Healing Ministries. However, the State appealed against the decision despite an order directing Pastor Kayiira to defend himself against the charge of criminal tress pass.
