Nigeria: Babangida Canvasses True Federalism, Power Devolution

In what appears like a complete self reversal, former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, Sunday called for devolution of power and the practice of true federalism as a panacea to the fuel subsidy crisis.

Babangida ran a lengthy battle with several groups and civil societies who, for eight years, demanded to no avail, the practice of fiscal federalism and even power devolution in the country, while he was in office as military president.
