Gambia: Training On Human Rights for Journalists Ends

Journalists drawn from both the print and the electronic media houses in the country, over the weekend completed a three-day extensive training on International Humanitarian Standards in The Gambia and other human rights related issues at the Baobab Holiday Resort in Bijilo.

The training, organised by the Gambia Red Cross Society took effect from the 12th to 14th January 2012, and was funded by the European Union (EU) Banjul Office through the Non-State Actors Strengthening Programme. The event has the overall objective of exposing the country's media practitioners to some of the realities revolving around humanitarian issues and human rights at both local and international level.
