Namibia: Residents Defer Planned Protest

Oshakati — Oshakati residents have suspended a planned peaceful protest over the Oshakati Town Council's demolition of illegal buildings at the town. The postponement is to allow the organisers to seek permission from the police.

Angry community members who gathered on Friday morning at a demolished kindergarten in preparation for the protest march were informed that their planned march could not take place because of an organisational hitch.
