Tanzania: Court Gives Up On Poll Petitions Over Lack of Funding

Dar es Salaam — The Principal Judge, Justice Fakihi Jundu, said the High Court could not undertake proceedings related to election petitions due to lack of funds.

He said yesterday that the government had only released Sh300million out of the required Sh2.3billion, warning that if the situation persisted, the court would refer the petitions to Parliament.
