Nigeria: Senate Applauds Probe of Oil Industry, End of Strike

Abuja — THE Senate says it is happy that a truce has been reached between the Federal Government and labour over the lingering nationwide strike and protests caused by the removal of subsidy on petrol.

Chairman Senate Committee on Information and Media, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe in a statement issued in Abuja yesterday, said the Senate received as most heart-warming the suspension of the strike by the organized Labour and commended President Goodluck Jonathan for bending backwards to set the stage for an amicable settlement of the crisis.
