The police department has been campaigning for one of 'their own' to be appointed as the Inspector General, contrary to the Kenya Constitution 2010.
They have given all manner of reasons including the ill notion that it's only a person within the force who has knowledge on crime prevention and well understands operational requirements of security and that it will be hard for officers to obey or work under a civilian.
