Angola: MPs Pay Tribute to King Ekuikui IV

Luanda — Members of National Parliament Thursday paid tribute to the colleague and king of Bailundo, Augusto Cachitiopolo "Ekuikui IV", who died on Saturday victim of disease.

After signing condolence book, the MP Domingos Francisco Tuta "Ouro de Angola", told Angop that the new generations should follow the example of the late king of Bailundo who engaged himself in defence of the higher interests of the Nation.

As MP, Augusto Cachitiopolo would defend the desire, not only of the people of Bailundo or Huambo, but also of all population of the country.

Whereas, the deputy Nzau Puna said that the king was a reconciliatory element of the communities, who won the credibility of the people by his character, a fact that deserves a day-off in Huambo province.

In his turn, João Baptista Domingos, also an MP, considered an irreparable loss.

The deputy Domingos Ngola also spoke of the quality of the Augusto Cachitiopolo as a king, MP and member of the central committee of the ruling MPLA party.

The MP Eduardo Kwangana considered the late king of Bailundo as a living library.

The king Ekuikui IV died on14 January at age of 98.
