Totally useless administration. Just old wines in new bottle. She takes the Minister of Gender who is being tainted by corruption and puts her to Labor and takes the Youth Minister and puts her to education. She rewards her old friends with jobs and leaves out the young competent people. The Minister of Agricutlture has been in government for more than 20 years yet Liberia cannot grow their own food.

The international community has given this old woman carte blanc to do what she wants and the power has gone to her head.

    I cry for my country.

Well, some Liberians need to really come to terms with the fact that as much as we would like to select who the president should name to her cabinet, it is only the president that make that determination of whom she wants to work with. By law, the Liberian Senate is supposed to provide a hearing process to vet these appointees and the public can weigh in if they so choose. However, the only yardstick to determine whether the president's appointments are solid would be on the issue of competency and qualification. All the other philosophical differences over the appointments like age discrimination, or the appointee served in the first term, has been in government too long, or the appointee is from Unity Party are not justified since they can not be used to disqualify a candidate. It would be unlawful. However, if these appointees bring shame the president going forward, she would deserve the wrath of the Liberian public.

Therefore, she needs to be a bit careful as she makes these appointments. Playing the devil advocate, since they have experienced or witnessed the scrutiny of the first term, they would be more conscientious than someone else who is untested and would have a steep learning curve.

Lets wait and see since Madam Sirleaf has a very ambitious mandate to deliver in her second term.

The Liberian mentallity must change that the only good job is a government job. It is a fact in most countries that the private sector is a larger and higher paying group of employers than government. Small business are generally the greatest number of employers iworld wide. What is needed is a banking sector willing to give loans on easy payment and terms instead of repayment in one year. For Liberians to heavily invest in the private sector and unemployment to be curbed banks must give easy payment long term 30 year loans. - most people shy away from the strict terms of bank loans. So many could renovate their old businesses held before the war but can't get a cent out of the bank without high interest rate and uncomfortable loan payments destining the to loose collateral. Give the private sector attractive bank loans and none of us will be looking for a government job.

Question for the President: As one of your long-time supporter Madam President, I am very disappointed in your new government that is supposed to produce results. Where are the young and the educated? Madam President, how many of your cabinet members are below the age of 45? Are we now rewarding those non-producing cronies that helped got us reelected? Is it time to return to politics as usual because election is now over? This makes me sick to my stomach. This is a sad day for our beloved Liberia. Remember one thing Madam President, your feet will be held to fire. As your supporter, I will support you while being your biggest critic, and I will ensure you deliver what you promise the Liberian people.
