Namibia: Free Education?

opinion

It is so hurtful and very disappointing to see that our elected government fails us in various fields of development.

These include health provision to the nation, exploitation of workers and unfair distribution of wealth, which we keep pointing out; land distribution and housing costs and also the high price of education.

It is time that Swapo stop accusing and pointing their fingers at the former interim government which indeed performed better than they do in many areas. They must clear up the current mess.

Just to be clear... The apartheid regime supplied all school stationery without parents having to contribute as is the case today. What pride can we have in education if we have to list all these omissions? And we continue to emphasise the meaning of 'free and compulsory education'.

How much more do we have to see how politicians live in luxury at the cost of those left out?
