Luanda — The Ministry of Energy and Water will install 142 isolated solar photovoltaic systems, totalling 534.6 kilovolts in several rural localities of the country.
The information was released Friday in Luanda by the national director of Renewable Energy, Sandra Cristóvão, while addressing a workshop with the theme "Renewable Energy" promoted by the Environmental Ministry.
The official referred to the installation of 230 streetlights in 30 rural localities that have already been identified.
With this commitment, she said, the sector intends to improve the people's conditions in the fields of education and health.
The photovoltaic solar systems will benefit 36 schools, 29 health centres, nine police stations, ten communitarian centres and 48 administrative residences.
Underway include the implementation of 132 isolated solar systems and 230 street lightning.
The project, scheduled to end in the first quarter of this year, is being implemented in the provinces of Bié, Cunene, Huíla, Kuando Kubango, Lunda Norte, Malanje, Moxico and Zaire.
