Zambia: Eastpoint Toasts Chipolopolo Victory

Zambian artistes once again converged at the arguably Lusaka's most popular spot Eastpoint to toast the Chipolopolo boys victory over Senegal last Saturday night.

After watching the proceedings on the big screen mounted outside the pub and other TVs inside, the fans went wild after the final whistle to set the mood right for performances that followed.

Exile, Bryan, Chika Lupupa and Mimbulu family and guest artistes Petersen and T sean, gave the jubilaant Chipolopolo supporters' more reason to go home late or is it early.

Exile currently riding high on his Auwe hit song was a marvel to watch as he performed old and new songs coupled with some dances that have never been seen from him before.

Bryan who registered his signature on the Zambian music scene with Lyonse Nganakumona song was next to perform after Exile.

The Nganalikombweke singer introduced to the audience new acts which include two dancers in an effort to spice up his performances.

The dancers looked rather dirty than the ones we are used to seeing with other artistes like Afunika, Runnel and kay. They tried to mesmerise the audience but their moves were average.

The wildest celebrations ensued when Chika and the Mimbulu boys stormed the stage to perform their boostele music.

The group had five dancers and the total number of performers on stage was 10. Chika Lupupa sampled new tunes from his forth coming album and the fans seemed to have received the new songs well as evidenced by the response the group was given.

T Sean, a dancehall artist collaborated with Petersen Zagaze on a song called Ndiyo Zofulama and the young patrons enjoyed the controversial song.

T Sean proved a force to reckon with in the Zambian music industry where he has registered himself as Mr Baila.

The final act came from Exile at around 04:00 hour in the morning and the fans decided to continue as they jumped on the stage to dance to the music of the resident disc jockey, Deejay Jay.
