Zambia: Our Material Is Being Stolen - Zambia One Comedy

Celebrated top Zambian comedy team, the Zambia One Comedy director Derrick Khondowe is worried that the group's intellectual property is been stolen by a lot of upcoming artists who are using it to create and consolidate their firm.

Khondowe aka Dangerous Joburg, says a lot of people have been copying the group's stand-up jokes and sketches, manipulate them a bit and use the material to their credit.

He says this is detrimental to the upcoming artist for they would not develop their own original concepts but continue relying on copied stuff which is legally criminal.

"We don't mind people using our stuff were they acknowledge that the production you are about to see is an original idea of the Zambia One Comedy, and not doing it as if it was your idea when we even sweat blood to come up with the ideas," he says.

Khondowe says the group is now working hard in shooting videos of the same material so that it can be well documented and protected.

Meanwhile, Khondowe has announced yet another marathon of the group that as usual begins from the faithful Kitwe Little Theatre club next week on February 3rd and 4th.This will be followed by a Ndola show that has been set for the following month on March 3rd at

Lowenthal Theatre.

Before winding up their marathon, in Chingola on of April 27 and 28 they will be coming to Lusaka to give their fans a three day show from April 6 to 8 at the Lusaka Play House.

Khondowe has promised his fans new and exciting production like "Days are numbers, Maternity and The Sangoma,
