Juba — South Sudan has closed another 242 oil wells as the government announced it had unearthed a theft syndicate involving more than 40,000 barrels per day.
The wells were closed in Palaung oil fields in Upper Nile state that accounts for more than 60 per cent of the young nation's crude output.
