Namibia: Abject Living Conditions at Quarantine Camp

A SINGLE quarter shack, an outside toilet and water delivered only twice a month are living conditions Sebastian Gowaseb had to put up with for the last five years.

Gowaseb (26), who has a matric qualification, is a worker at the Condor Quarantine Camp in the Kunene Region approximately 65 kilometres from Kamanjab, where he has been stationed for the last five years, and has only one request to the Ministry of Agriculture, namely proper housing.
