Sierra Leone: Fc Kallon Striker to Go Under the Knife Today

FC Kallon's new signing, Ibrahim K. Fofonah will undergo an operation today at the Emergency Hospital after sustaining a broken bone in his left leg during FC Kallon's 2-0 win over Freetown City FC on Friday at the National Stadium.

Fofanah, who is expected to be on the sidelines for several months, finished as the 2011 premier league player of the year and also finished as the tournament's top scorer.

He only lasted 18 minutes on the pitch on Friday before he was rushed to the Emergency Hospital at Goderich for treatment. After a scan test, it was discovered that there was no major problem in his foot and could play again after his operation.

The youngster joined Kallon FC before the start of the season from Kamboi Eagles where he was on loan from first division club Wellington People.

Though he was part of the 18-man squad that featured against Egypt in Freetown and in the South Africa match in Nelspruit during the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, Fofanah is yet to make his debut for the senior national team, Leone Stars.
