DEPUTY Prime Minister and minister for Local Government, Musalia Mudavadi has urged Parliament to consider amending mandatory educational qualifications for elective office to exempt serving civic leaders.
The DPM was speaking during Baringo county Orange Democratic Movement party delegates conference in Kabarnet town yesterday where he received endorsement from the more than 300 delegates. He said that ODM will lead efforts to convince Parliament to amend section 22(b) of the Elections Act so that sitting civic leaders just like MPs are exempted.
