For a long while now Nigerian life has been one long TV thriller, aptly given name by President Goodluck Jonathan when he told then Inspector General of Police Abubakar Ringim to produce escaped Boko Haram suspect Garba Sokoto within 24 hours or get sacked.

'24 Hours' is a television series that reveals a dedicated counter terrorist unit, thwarting the efforts of political terrorists in an imaginary United States of America. Each episode is a believable suspense filled depiction of all that happens within 24 hours. IGP Ringim did not produce Garba Sokoto in 24 hours, and was forced to retire from the nation's police service. In his place Mohammed Dikko Abubakar was appointed Inspector General of police. Thus one went down, and another went up. I decided to scribble my musings of the week for this column and found myself reflecting on the Nigerian thriller, and indeed, it was full of some going down and others going up.
