Kenya: Refinery Hit With Sh1.6 Billion Tax Demand

The taxman has rejected the Kenya Petroleum Refineries Ltd (KPRL) quest not to pay Sh1.6 billion and insisted that the customs duty and penalties must be collected in full.

In a letter to KPMG, the refineries tax advisors, the Kenya Revenue Authority has given the crude oil separator two weeks to pay up the money arising from use of fuel oil in KPRL's operations.
