Nigeria: Benue to Shut Illegal Schools

Makurdi — The Benue State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Elizabeth Ugo, has announced the readiness of her ministry to close down all illegal schools operating in the state despite repeated warnings.

Speaking to our correspondent in Makurdi yesterday, Mrs. Ugo said no responsible government would allow the existence of substandard and unapproved schools, especially when it is spending so much to provide the necessary teaching materials for schools in state.
