Somalia: President Meets With AU Envoy in Mogadishu

Mogadishu — The president of Somalia's Transitional Federal government (TFG) Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed met with AU especial envoy Jerry Rowlings in the capital Mogadishu, sources said on Wednesday.

The meeting which took place at Villa Somalia, the country's presidential palace in Mogadishu both sides focused on more about the political deadlock in the Transitional Federal parliament (TFP) over the speaker.

Jerry Rowlings, African Union especial representative for Somalia praised during media briefing the latest security development in the country made by the government troops and AMISOM soldiers, adding that this move will help people out the of crises.

On the other hand, TFG prime Minster Abdiweli Mohemd Ali acknowledged Mr. Rowlings for his efforts to bring an end to the Somalia parliament infighting over issues related to the constitution and leadership that led MPs to split into two parties.
