Egypt: Irrigation Minister - Positive Outcome for Meetings of Ethiopia's Dam Assessment Experts

The tripartite technical committee assigned to assess the impact of Ethiopia's Millennium Dam has completed choosing the four required international experts who will participate in the process of assessment as members of the committee.

The step prepares for starting the executive measures of the assessment process that will include reviewing technical studies and designs of the dam which will be provided to the committee by the Ethiopian government. The ten-member committee includes experts from Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia plus four international experts.

Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Hisham Qandeel said he received on Sunday 12/2/2012 an all-out report on the outcome of the two-day meeting of experts held in Addis Ababa which said that the Ethiopian side has agreed on the necessity to hold a committee meeting with all members attending quickly.
