Nigeria: Cashless Economy - Let's Do Away With Ghana-Must-Go Syndrome - CBN

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has called on Nigerians, particularly the policy makers in the country, to do away with carrying large amount of money around in order to achieve the vision 2020 agenda, maintaining that vision 2020 was realisable and achievable.

Speaking yesterday in Osogbo, at the Maiden edition of the Stakeholders' Forum with the theme: "Sound Payments System: Pre-requisite for Sustainable Economic Development", organised by the Osun State branch of the CBN, the State Branch Controller, Mr. Joseph Oyinbo Atteh, posited that for the country's economy to reach its peak among the nations of the world by year 2020, all hands must be on deck in supporting the cashless policy of the apex bank.
