Nigeria: Kogi Chief Judge Vows to Decongest Prisons

THE Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice Nasiru Ajanah has vowed to decongest prisons in the State by giving cases accelerated hearing. The judge made the pledge yesterday when he visited the Koton Karfi prison, which was allegedly invaded by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect last week.

Justice Ajanah, who described the condition of the Koton Karfi prison as an eye saw, suggested that a new prison should be built in the area.
