Port Harcourt — The Rivers State governorship election petitions tribunal yesterday struck out the petition filed by governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2011 elections, Mr Celestine Omehia.
The Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt had on September 22, 2011, ordered the tribunal to retry the petition brought before it by Omehia and his party, APGA, challenging the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declaring Rotimi Amaechi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the April 26 governorship election in the state.
