Liberia: Gay Rights Advocate Narrowly Escapes 'Death'

A Liberian gay rights advocate, Mr. Achie Ponpon, on Thursday, February 23, 2012 narrowly escaped the wrath of an angry crowd who had vowed to mob him to 'death'. The angry crowd, predominately youth, had trooped in front of the Renaissance Communications Incorporated(RCI) yesterday morning to await the gay rights activist emerge from the building before unleashing their mob action against him in total opposition to his continued advocacy of same sex marriage in the country.

Renaissance Communications Incorporated(RCI), which is situated on Ashmun Street, Monrovia, is the owner of Truth FM Radio and Real Television.
