Angola: Lunda Norte Vice Governor Calls for Investments in Housing

Luanda — The deputy governor of north-eastern Lunda Norte province for technical affairs and infrastructures, Lino dos Santos, Saturday here appealed to civil construction operators to invest in housing projects in the province.

Speaking to Angop in Luanda, the deputy governor said that in view of the history of the province, businesses have been reluctant to invest in the region, adding that much is being done to change the situation.

According to the official, there are only government's projects going on in the region, including the construction of the Dundo new city centre.

He highlighted the construction of 1,000 houses in the provincial headquarters, in addition to the programme of construction of another 200 homes in each of the municipalities of the province.

The official admitted the existence of a few initiatives in the process of national reconstruction, particularly in the domain of housing, that however can not be considered public-private partnerships.
