Egypt: Salafist Al-Fadila Party Supports Abu Ismail for President

Salafist Al-Fadila Party announced its support for potential presidential candidate Hazem Salah Abu Ismail in the elections bound to take place before the end of June.

The decision came after a meeting between party leaders and some potential presidential candidates and following a study of election platforms, a party's statement said.

Choosing Abu Ismail was due to "the strength of his platform which depends on Egypt's independence politically, economically and militarily, as well as its clear presentation and avoidance of vague diplomatic phrases," the statement added.
