Angola: Foreign Affairs Minister Hails President's Commitment

Luanda — The Foreign Affairs Minister, George Chicoti, on Tuesday highlighted the wise leadership and dedication of President José Eduardo dos Santos in the materialisation of strategic goals, Angop has learnt.

Among the strategic goals the Minister mentioned the internal conflict and national reconciliation, the struggle for the liberation of Namibia people and the support for the end of the apartheid regime in South Africa.

The official said so during a meeting with the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, who paid a 48-hour working visit to the country, at the invitation of the Angolan authorities.

He said that the mentioned goals were achieved due to the commitment of the Angolan President, in co-operation with the international community for the implementation of UN 43 resolution, in defence of fair cause interests of freedom fighters South Africa.

"It was with this legacy that Angola achieved peace in April in 2002", said the Minister.
