Gambia: Six Months Mandatory Jail Term for Thief

Principal Magistrate Foster of the Bundung Magistrates Court on Thursday 9th February 2012 convicted and sentenced one Ebrima Samateh for the offence of theft contrary to section 252 of the Criminal Code, Laws of The Gambia.

The facts of the case revealed that, the convict on the 3rd December 2011 at Sukuta Kombo North of the West Coast Region, stole one computer valued at D47, 000 and one Tape player valued at D2, 000 being the property of Kotu Kala Senior Secondary School at Sukutaand thereby committed an offence.
