Tunisia: Head of Nation Constituent Assembly Condemns Israeli Detainment of Palestinian Lawmakers

The Head of Tunisia's Constituent Assembly, Mustapha Ben Jaafar, has condemned the government of Israel for its arrest and continued detainment of Palestinian lawmakers.

"We must bring the whole world's attention to the fact that Israel has detained not just Marouan Barghouti and Abdelaziz Dweik but 48 other legitimately elected Palestinian parliamentarians," declared Ben Jaafer, referring to prominent, as well as the lesser known, examples of Israeli detainment of elected Palestinian officials.
