Zimbabwe/Mozambique: Young Mighty Warriors Win in Mozambique

Johannesburg, South Africa — YOUNG Mighty Warriors striker Rutendo Makore scored a hat-trick to power the team to another convincing win over Mozambique at the National Stadium in Maputo on Saturday night during a first round, second leg qualifier of the Under-20 Fifa World Cup.

Zimbabwe will now meet Nigeria in the second round. The match started late at night because the Angolan match officials who had been set to officiate failed to come and South African officials were called in at the last minute. To make matters worse, heavy rains that fell in Maputo made play difficult on the artificial turf as both teams failed to make meaningful passes for much of the first half.
