Cote d'Ivoire: Defense Minister Says Rogue FRCI Soldiers Turn Out to Be Roadside Robbers

At least three people were recently killed in separate incidents involving rogue FRCI elements in Abobo and Seguela. The information was reported by Le Nouveau Courrier

According to the daily, three individuals have been kept under custody following the Abobo incident, where a teenager named Fabrice Irie was fatally injured by a rogue FRCI soldier. In a statement read yesterday on the national television channel RTI, military spokesperson Captain Leon Allah said the incident in the central-western town of Seguela, which claimed the lives of two people, involved a demobilized soldier from the FRCI who had been engaged in criminal activities.
