Enugu — Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has said that the death of former Biafran leader, Dim Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu has united Nigerians. Speaking with Daily Trust shortly before the burial of Ojukwu at the weekend in Umudim in Nnewi, Anambra State, the minister described Ojukwu as her hero.
"During the war, my father was a Brigadier in the Biafran Army, and I was a teenager at the time. As I said in a tribute recently, I was cooking for the Biafran soldiers at the war front. So Ojukwu was my hero and he was a hero to all Nigerians. Who in Nigeria has ever received these kind of tribute? Look at the calibre of people who attended the ceremony", she said.
